If you don't feel like farming then don't

I'm not farming at all, I'm having fun racing and getting tokens/fortunes so I can get pigs and poppers/fireworks. It's a game, games are supposed to be for fun, have fun!

Here is a telling quote from our Cantha New Year Event Page:
But, if you want to dance the night away in your festival mask and have the chance to receive a special prize should every course of the celestial's meal be completed to perfection, you must journey to Shing Jea Monastery for the grand finale.
I hope that is helpful info!

not that helpful..........does this mean that each individual person who has all collector's items gets something beyond a hat? Or is it sort of a collective effort, like the grenth vs dwayna count off

Well it said that if piggy enjoys all the courses of the meal; the whole district gets a surprise; I guess the red gift bags?

I would presume the people that actually bring the ingredients would get something beyond what everyone else does; a couple tokens may haps?

She said if you want a chance to get a SPECIAL PRIZE you have to get all the stuff from all over the place AND be at the finale.

Too much work (i.e. lag) for only having a CHANCE at something good for me. Unless it's a new car I'm out.

Peace. I can't wait until MOnday when I can actually play the game again.

Not entirely. It does little to answer if this is an individual or group effort, or if this undefined "special prize" is something worth the pain of farming random trinkets across three chapters.

No, the quote does not say that. It says that if the Pig has the stuff he may give special prizes to people in the district. It does not say he will only give those prizes to people who have stuff from all over the place.

Correct. Thank you for the clarity. The prize is district wide, if the requirements are met.

Nice community minded comments you've posted throughout the thread.

I think the point of the chef ingredient hunt was to encourage collaboration & trade, and for some people the scavenger hunt was fun all by itself. Go do something else if you find scavenger hunts grueling?

I'm pretty sure it's "all the dishes must be completed at least once" for the district to get stuff.... That was my guess yesterday, and the comments in this thread make it likelier to be true.

Smoking Remains are 3-4k each.

They only drop from Nightmares on fire island.

Low drop. Very few enemies. Thats not fun...thats grueling.

The WIntersday scavenger quests were fun.

Gaile just said in Shin Jea Int that "If a district is able to make all of the recipes, there will be a special reward".

However she did say that, that is how she interpreted it from the website, and then proceeded to re-write the blurb from the gw.com site.

Who knows.
